Estrella del Paso Receives $7,500 Texas Bar Foundation Grant to Expand Immigrant Legal Access in El Paso

El Paso, TX – Estrella del Paso is proud to announce it has been awarded a $7,500 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation. The funding will support Estrella del Paso’s Rights and Relief Legal Support Program.
The program is designed to advance justice for low-income and disadvantaged immigrant communities by expanding Know-Your-Rights outreach and offer pro se assistance to people navigating the complicated immigration system. The program aims to empower families with the knowledge and tolls needed to protect their rights by offering workshops, community presentations, and guided support for individuals representing themselves before the immigration court.
“This generous support from the Texas Bar Foundation will allow Estrella del Paso to reach more families who often face complex legal challenges without access to reliable guidance,” said Melissa M. Lopez, Executive Director of Estrella del Paso. “Our community continues to experience significant barriers to justice. This grant will help us provide education, clarity, and hope to those who need it most.”
Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation’s largest charitably funded bar foundation.
